Sophia's 2nd Birthday!

December 8th.
Sophia turned 2!
I cannot believe she is two years old already. Time goes by too fast.
I gave Sophia a little party here at the house and invited family and neighbors.

The Theme:
BLUE'S CLUES!

The beautiful, sweet, birthday girl!

Come on in!!

I am always on a budget, so I try and make the best I can with what I have!
I have a tendency to plan things way ahead of time. Especially parties.
So throughout the year, if I see something that will coordinate with a party theme. I will buy it/ make it.
I actually didn't get much help from Pinterest on this theme. LOL.

Blue Cupcakes!
I got the paper baking cups from TJMaxx. Such a great find. I thought they matched so well!

I got the cupcake toppers from ordering a pdf file from Etsy and I just cut them out and put them on toothpicks.
The lollipops were an unexpected find as well. Found them in Kroger! I made the lollipop stands out of silk flower Styrofoam blocks and wrapped it with green tissue paper and embellished them with purple ribbon I had lying around the house.
I also found the giant gumballs at TJMaxx (noticing a pattern here?)
Unexpected find but it's a good thing I grabbed one, because I went back the next day to buy more and they were GONE!

I made homemade rice krispie treats and dyed them blue! They were a hit.
I found the plastic dog bowls at Target for $1.
Inside them were simple snacks, like crunch and munch, pretzels and Skittles Riddles--which has great colors for a Blue's Clue's theme, especially for  a girl party.
I added Rainbow Twizzlers to the mix. Just omitted every color except for blue, green and purple.

The house is made out of construction paper and an empty waffle bowl box. LOL.

The Goody/ Thank you bags!

The blue bags were on clearance at Target! 60 cents for six bags!
I was thrilled.
I printed out printable paw prints and glued them onto orange construction paper.
Blue is leaving her clues everywhere!

Inside...

I found these blue coordinated crayons at Walmart!
Crayons + Blue= A very good item for Blue's Clues.

 Chocolate Blue's Clues Lollipops!
I found a Blue's Clues lollipop mold on Ebay. :)

For drinks we offered sweet tea and lemonade.
I chose Lemonade, because that's all they seem to drink on the show. LOL.

 The Cake!
Found a Blue's Clues Cake pan for $5 on Craigslist. I hired someone to make it for me. It was delicious!

Buttercream icing, and it was BANANA cake!
Why?
Because Steve LOVES bananas.

The Coloring Station. I did this so the kids can get comfortable with everyone at the party!
I printed out Blue's Clues coloring pages from Nickjr.com

We also played "Pin the Paw on Blue!"

Hanging out, eating pizza and other sugary items.

 Opening presents!!

Even some of her gifts were Blue's Clues related...

 Time for cake!

 Blowing out her candles!!

Om nom nom...

Happy Birthday, Sophia!!!
Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
My big girl...
