Zebra Print Cupcakes!

I made Zebra Print Cupcakes!
Super easy, time consuming, but easy!

Chocolate Fudge Cake batter.
White cake batter.
Pink food coloring and a white tub of icing!

Just interchange spoonfuls of white and chocolate cake batter when putting it in the baking cups.

Christmas in July?! No. More like Halloween in July!

Let me make this clear:

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!

Are we clear? Good.
Seriously though, it is my favorite holiday. I don't know why but I love it. The food, the candy, trick or treating, pranks, scary movies, scaring people, haunted houses, dressing up, October, pumpkin/apple picking, having fun with friends and family.Unfortunately, Halloween has changed so much since I was kid. I don't like the way they do it now.  Everything is timed, or a "Trunk of Treat" is held at church or you can tick or treat at the mall. What happened to walking down your block with your mom and dad, brother and sister, with pillowcases, and going door to door? I remember getting out of school around 3, coming straight home, got changed and dressed up, met up with my friends and we trick or treated  till 9, 10pm. Pillowcases full.

So this year, I think we are just going to stay home, make our own treats, buy our own candy, and have a little Halloween party at the house.

The Halloween bug has bit me. The dollar store put out Halloween stuff early and I was compelled to buy some decorations for the house. Hey, it was only a $1.

I am also in the process of making these bats out of EGG CARTONS. I had everything that was needed. I just needed some googly eyes. Once again, $1.

Aren't these cute?
I found it on Pinterest. Of course!
I can't wait to hang em up!

DIY Cupcake/Cake Tier

I love making cupcakes. And I needed something to show em off!
I was getting tired of trying to find a cupcake tier that was cheap. I found a cake stand at the Thrift Store, but they wanted $7 for it. It was glass and looked grody.  No thanks. I made my own for less. Plus it's new! YAY for Pinterest!

Candlestick for $1 at the Dollar Store.
I was gonna get $1 platters and spray paint it, but I don't have the patience to do that right now. I just bought a plate that I liked at Walmart for $2.50.
Then some E6000 glue...
and there ya go!

Ka ching!

 I made this one, too.
Walmart had the plates on clearance for $1. And dollar candlesticks from Dollar Tree! Instant 3 tier cupcake stand. Without the concern of food safe, spray paint!
I made this for my daughter's upcoming party--ya know in December. LOL.

May- July

May 16th was Evan's Birthday!
Evan is not too picky when it comes to gifts. Food, especially candy, will make him happy.
But I made him one of his favorite meals, along with chocolate pie, homemade mac n cheese!

Then, on the weekend, we celebrated with the Barton's at Landry's Seafood House. To be honest, it was good, but I enjoy Red Lobster a whole lot better. LOL. It was nice to try something different though, so no regrets. We all ate good!
Evan started school on  May 29th (my mommy's birthday). I am so proud of him. He is going back to school for engineering!

Sophia got a present from Grandpa, a princess couch!! Making herself nice and comfy. And she looks like she is gonna wail that ball at me! LOL

June--I started the Bouari Diet!

July 1st, we celebrated our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!
We spent the night by ourselves, while the neighbors watched Sophia. We went out to Ruby Tuesday's and we went bowling! So much fun. And definitely needed!!
Evan and I have been through hell and back. And we truly believe that all the things that tear others apart, we overcame it. There is nothing stopping us.
That's love, baby.
I can't wait what the future holds....

Seems like Sophia was doing JUST FINE without us. Look how happy she is! She was having alot of fun with the kids!

4th of July--fun in the sun!
We spent the 4th BBQing with the neighbors and there was a firework show at Dublin Park in Madison. Sophia LOVED the fireworks. At first she was scared of the loud booms, so she reached out to Mommy so I could hold her but as the show went on--she got used to it. No covering of ears or holding, she stood tall and clapped every time one would blow up. Simply adorable. So proud of her!!

 And for dessert.....
